Ryan Murphy is a writer, producer and director who is most popular for creating two widely successful television series, Nip/Tuck and Glee. Originally a journalist, Ryan Murphy started his television career with the WB series Popular in 1999. Murphy received his first Emmy nomination for Nip/Tuck.
His current series, Glee, has received a record number of 19 nomination including Outstanding Comedy Series. Ryan Murphy is also credited as screenwriter and director for the film Running With Scissors, based on the memoir by Augusten Burroughs, and co-writer/director of Eat Pray Love.
