After Yun-Fat and Francis Ng, Yam Tat-wah is my third favorite actor, I follow him since I first saw in "Bullet in the head." Others that I follow: Anthony Wong Chau-sang, Nick Cheung, Lau Tak-wah, Lau Ching-Wan, Jiang Wen, Jordan Chan, Eric Tsang and the korean acotr Song Kang-Ho.
Simon Yam is much more of Breaking News. He's PTU, Election, Bad"cool"Guy of Exiled, Full Contact and Vengeance. Yam is great in Sparrow and deserved Hong Kong Awards for "Echoes of the Rainbow (2010)".
Even in smaller films, those not very quoted when he was young, his performance is always worth seeing.
Simon committed peak performance, even in Category III films, such as Hong Kong Gigolò or Gigolo and W..re. Do not worry it is not porn XD , very funny indeed, and he very sexy. * _ *
In other words, to be followed. If he is among the favorite actors of Johnnie To, together with Wong and Lam Suet, there will be a reason. :)
