Continuing our weekend of watching our often-watched films, we had to watch this movie that is one of my favorite Nick Hornby books and one our favorite movies - one we haven't watched for a few years. Hugh Grant is extra adorable in this and the school assembly scene near the end still makes me smile all the way through to the end of the movie. Nick Hornby's story and the Weitzs' direction combined with Hugh Grant's performance (as well as the young boy's performance!), this is a beautiful and humorous story about people needing one one another and the community and family we create outside normal lines and in unusual ways, and the importance of connecting with others. I love the book and was not at all disappointed with the film. Really a must see!
