The added footage in the director's cut doesn't add anything significant to what is already a great movie. But it's fun to see what ended up on the cutting room floor. Ridley Scott has said he prefers the original theatrical cut. I agree.

Ellen Ripley is an engaging and strong female protagonist, and it was an interesting choice to make her behave like an antagonist on the first half of the film. Good creature and make-up effects as well.
