Ryan Stebbings Agreed. I hate lending out to. -
Jason C. Wilkerson I've got everything listed and I still rarely loan anything out. If people want to watch stuff from my library they can come over and watch it. Or they can lend me something from theirs. -
Ryan Stebbings A swap is more comfortable. People assume because I have a huge movie library they're entitled to borrow one, it annoys me.

Trying to put some perspective on the ending. Was he punished for breaking free of the boxes that bind us? Was this fate pulling the rug out from under his feet for breaking the mold? Was the message... more

Jason C. Wilkerson I seem to always reinforce my original thoughts on the film every time I watch it. I hadn't even though about the conformity aspect mainly because I always considered that what lies beneath is dysfunction and suppression of what society tells us is wrong. All of them suffer from it, and the only character who is not suppressed is Ricky and we're made to look at him like he's a freak because of it. I guess you could say that conformity also leads to that suppression as well and eventually we're all screaming to get out of our own skin when we suppress ourselves, and that's what happens to all of the characters. They all are trying to get away from that conformity, or they're so suppressed that they don't realize they need an outlet. -
Mike Peace Great discussion. I feel a lot of it was for irony's sake. He had just truly started 'living' again, only to have it end in a bang (pardon the pun lol). Also makes you question, that if he had known, would he have done anything different? Would he have stayed in his dead-end job, endured his shell of a marriage, for the chance to exist a few more years? I love the look of complete contention on his face afterwards though.
What makes this movie so amazing is that here we are, a decade after its release, still discussing and pondering elements of it. I love that. -
Scott Cunningham Completely agree, Mike. The fact we are still talking about is a hallmark of a great flick.
