Okay I like this movie, not one of my favorites, but anyone who knows me knows why I didn't care for the ending of the film. But for those who don't know me I will tell you why. One word: Needles! Enough said! I hate needles :O

This is the most unwatchable movie ever. It shifts from horrible violent to dully boring. The director actually said he wanted to make a movie that no one could watch without looking away at least once.

I think with most Takashi Miike movies you have to look passed the violent, gory, and overall twisted scenes and delve deeper into the meaning of the things shown in the movie.

Good. Typical Miike when he's hot. Way over-hyped here in the states though, It's not THAT good. It's kinda boring actually.

I got through most of this movie... Until the second or third torture scene. Then I had to shut it off. Had to "Dislike" this one for the sole reason that it's given me a bad case of the heeby-jeebies for the rest of my life! If you like that kind of thing, then it's a great movie. I just can't take it!

Wow, this movie was intense with it's twisty-turniness. But like a train wreck I just couldn't look away. Glad I didn't. Hard to do that with subtitles movies.

Classic!!

Took a while to get where it's going, but once it does...look out! Great movie!

There's something mesmerizing about the torture scenes. I don't want to say that I enjoyed it but it definitely held my full attention.

I found the juxtaposition of calming, happy scenes and torture scenes at the end very interesting. The idea that perhaps all of the negativity wasn't real..just the suppressed bad feelings of those around him was quite a touch. I am still wondering which ending was the real one. Asami's acceptance of Aoyama's proposal..or her brutal torture of him.

The brilliance here lies in the fact that both are warped perceptions of possible reality. The one being overly optimistic..the other being well..not so much.

If I had to gamble on which was reality (in reference to the film) was the correct one, I might be inclined to say neither.

Totally dated this girl. Actually, dated a series of this girls. There's nothing inherently good about this movie, just the sense of wry irony I get on comparing it to my life.

Don't know why I just thought of this (haven't seen it in a while), but it leaves an impact like that. One of Miike's quieter films (for the most part), but just as disturbing.
