Burt Lancaster is brilliant!

Watching for the first time. Incredibly good movie.

Burt Lancaster & Karl Malden. Don't know why bit I really like this movie.

Just finished "The Birdman of #Alcatraz". Amazing story. Too bad he never had any birds while on #TheRock.

Watching this masterpiece on MGM HD, Lancaster was a true actor's actor. Superb movie.

A movie that started off kind of on the cheesy side (ended the same way to be honest) had a compelling true story that made that discrepancy easy to overlook. Burt Lancaster does a superb job as Robert Strauss and his supporting cast is brilliant as well. Prison rehabilitation is at the forefront here but it presented with a slight padding of the raw realities. Something that perhaps aids the story more than being heavy handed in the story telling.
