always found the murders interesting, hope the movie is good.

Love Mia Kirshner in this movie, small but beautifully portrayed role.

It's hard to follow, but really good. The only thing I wonder about is the ending. Whose daughter is whose? And was Betty related to Hillary Duff's character?

That was an overly complicated plot and ending. The relationships of the characters didn't make a whole lot of sense to me either. I'm too confused to even decide if I liked the movie or not!

josh hartnett's butt shot makes it worth the 2 hours of nothing happening.

this is a terrible movie btw. about half an hour too long and a ridiculously stupid plot line. and the crazy suspenseful "twist"? totally dumb.. but i like it anyway.

This is an excellent mystery/romance that has very little to do with the book upon which it was based. While I would like to see the hour and a half that was excised from this - which I'm certain would give it a grittier flavor than what we were left with, this is a great noire tale complete with a dysfunctional love triangle (okay, I'm lying - more than one dysfunctional love triangle), broken people, and dramatic situations that can seem uncomfortably natural at times.

I have a long list of Josh Hartnett films I need to watch. Starting with this one now.
