Disney goes sci-fi in this futuristic adventure about a team of space travelers who stumble upon a black hole. Fearful of being pulled into the dark abyss, the explorers try to make a quick exit -- but then they spot an intriguing spacecraft at the mouth of the hole. On further investigation, they discover the wacky scientist Dr.
Hans Reinhardt (Maximillian Schell), who believes that the world can mine its energy from the hole.
"Futuristic" robot/space sci-fi movie from the 70's. It is awful. The special effects really look terrible and cheezy. Did this stuff look good back then? I can't remember.
As corny as this film is, it contains an Overture, which causes me to watch. The music really is the only thing that sells this. You really don't see that done anymore.
Haven't seen this since I was little... Never knew they all died and went to heaven or hell. Guess the black hole was the gateway? Strange. Loved Vincent thou.
