"Futuristic" robot/space sci-fi movie from the 70's. It is awful. The special effects really look terrible and cheezy. Did this stuff look good back then? I can't remember.

As corny as this film is, it contains an Overture, which causes me to watch. The music really is the only thing that sells this. You really don't see that done anymore.

$20 million wasted. What a TRBL movie. Even for 1979.

Great film for its time (1979), and last major film to have an overture. The CD of the music was not released until 2011.

One of my all time favorite movies. Saw this at The Wood theatre in Woodbury NJ in 1979. Maximilian is the coolest robot ever.
