R.J. Crowther Jr. A bit of cool trivia: In one of the BR extras Rutger Hauer reveals he rewrote that beautiful soliloquy, and added the "tears in rain" line. It's one of the most elegant and memorable quotes in SF. And I love and am obsessed with PKD. Wish more people would visit his Getglue page. -
Derek Frost R.J. I totally agree with you about your obsession, when I want to read everthing including letters/essays/thesises. You know you are more than an average fan. -
R.J. Crowther Jr. I'm right there with you. Just got my 20th PKD book in the Vintage Press editions. All are [going] out of print in that edition, and I'm trying to collect the whole set because I love the retro/psychedelic covers. A new publisher is slowly reprinting all of Dick's novels, but the new covers are generic and bland. I got Exegesis as a Christmas present, but haven't cracked it yet. Also really worth checking out are the hardcover complete collections of PKD's short stories, which are being published by the wonderful Subterranean Press. So far only the first two volumes of the five-volume set have been released, but they were still available direct the last time I checked. The cover artist for the Subterranean short story collections is the same artist who did the covers for the brilliant graphic novel adaptations of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," which contain every word of the original novel.
