I love Alec Guinness in this movie. Fantastic performance!

The actual bridge built over the River Kwai took 100,000 reluctant drafted Asian laborers and 12,000 prisoners of war died during the construction.

I really don't want to watch this but it's on the list of Classic American films and I've been pushing it off for a long time.

Finally watching this movie taking it off my list of shame. The Only other David Lean movie I've seen is Lawrence of Arabia.

This is one of those films that I can watch over and over and never get tired of it. It is also one of the first "old" movies that I really loved as a young kid (my initial motivation to see it being my Star Wars obsession & wanting to see a young Obi-Wan). A absolute classic by David Lean that is always a treat to watch.
