I am so out of practice on my Shakespeare.

Voy a ver "Coriolanus", que hoy me apetece una película más actual. Dejaré para mañana otras como... "Pulp Fiction", que la quería revisionar

Turns out it's based off a Shakespeare play. Still quite good but. Gerard Butler gets a knife fight.

Filme baseado na tragédia homônima, escrita por William Shakespeare, adaptada para os dias atuais.

A fine adaptation under the direction of Fiennes. Nothing fantastically amazing or original. Shakespeare's classic words are always welcome in a modern world setting.

Vanessa Redgrave is a badass.

"He is ill-schooled in graceful language."

I am not feeling this movie right now. Maybe some other time =/

Not that it has Shakespearean English which i am okay with but the movie itself is quite difficult to follow!!! and hour into the movie and i finally started getting what was going on. the modern setting is what bothers! but not a bad movie at all. Ralph Finnes directed and acted superbly but Vanessa Redgrave steals the show. Masterful and utterly amazing performances by both of them. Grade: B

Hanya ada dendam di hati Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes). Bagaimana tidak, ia telah berjuang mati-matian demi negerinya namun kini orang-orang berusaha menyingkirkannya dari negeri yang telah ia bela. Coriolanus harus membalas dendam. Ia tak peduli lagi bagaimana caranya, selama dendam kesumat di dalam dadanya terbalaskan. Coriolanus rela mengemis bantuan pada musuh besarnya untuk melampiaskan amarahnya.

Medan pertempuran mengharumkan nama Coriolanus, sang jenderal perkasa. Namanya dielu-elukan sebagai pahlawan. Sayang, ambisi Coriolanus membuatnya jadi berseberangan dengan rakyat. Di medan peperangan Coriolanus boleh tak terkalahkan namun di kancah politik, ia tak bisa berbuat semaunya. Kini semua orang berada di pihak lawan, bahkan Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave), ibunya pun memilih berseberangan dengan Coriolanus.

Sang pahlawan harus diasingkan. Ia tak boleh lagi menginjak tanah kelahirannya. Coriolanus kecewa. Ia tak menyangka rakyat bakal menyingkirkannya dari tanah kelahirannya. ...

Lets do some real acting and stop reciting Shakespeare shall we?

Great adaptation of the play. Personally always seen Coriolanus as a bit of a villain and a prick.

Filme com dialogo muito denso por culpa do Shakespeare. O começo do filme parecia ter saído de uma das fases do Call of Duty :-)
