I finally picked up the Blu-ray for this film and I am glad that I did. It is an excellent film in every aspect. The performances by Chow Yun-Fat, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi, and Chang Chen were convincing, never dull and drew you into every scene with the help of Ang Lee's direction. Lee develops the characters flawlessly and allows you to form an emotional attachment to each character, which is important in any good film. (Zhang Ziyi is so beautiful. I saw her a few weeks ago in her first role in The Road Home. It's hard to associate that pretty face with the butt-whoopin' she hands out ☺)

Needless to say, Yuen Wo Ping's weapon and hand-to-hand combat choreography was astounding. I can watch the film over and over just for that feature alone. I also think the film would not have been nearly as good without Peter Pau's cinematography, from desert to mountain to bamboo forest made for an incredibly breathtaking escape.

Another plus...it's another great way to learn Chinese! ;)

Finally watching this movie now that the hype has died down

I'm watching New Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the 6 hour Chinese mini series version. Not sure what I expected but I'm about 10 min in and it's beyond awful. Looks like a bad student film with sort of a budget. I'm turning it off before I kill myself. Stick to the feature film.

One of the most beautiful films ever made,fully deserving of it's Oscars. The fight choreography was unique and outstanding,the scenery was breathtaking and the casting was spot on. Chow Yun Fat as the warrior and Michelle Yeoh as his friend and love interest are superb as is Ziyi Zhang. One of my all time favourite movies.

A sword by itself rules nothing. It only comes alive in skilled hands.

Laura is on a Kung Fu kick and really enjoyed Hero so I knew that she'd enjoy Crouching Tiger.

Beautiful in every way. I love the Kung Fu, the Mandarin, the everything!
