The 1931 original starring the amazing Bela Lugosi who was always synonymous with the role and felt it a burden later in life with his career going into dramatic decline.

It looks corny as hell now, especially when you can see the string attached to the bat, but Dwight Frye is hilarious and Legosi remains the most universally recognized Dracula ever.

Waiting to see if a like this or not. Frankenstein was a drag.

Renfield's laugh in this is one of the creepiest things I've heard. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It's not surprising that he was typecast after this role. Sad though.

TRYING to watch this original Lugosi version from the 1931...it keeps getting interrupted by storm warnings.
It's B&W of course, but the lighting is very well done....bwaa ha haa!
