There's little in the way of gore here (check out that PG-13 rating), but Raimi injects enough gross-out moments to please any eight-year-old boy. Seriously, do not eat before watching this.
Best horror movie of 2009. Take that, 'Paranormal Activity.'
Jayde Darling liked and reviewed this via Quick Rate2 hoursThis film had some classic Raimi gross out, hysterical moments in it, but I felt Alison Lohman was reaching for some Campbell-esque place inside of her that she never quite reached. I can also admit I didn't really like her character at all and was rooting for her to get her come-uppance for the entirety of the film.

Gareth Perch disliked and reviewed this on netflix.com3 daysMy dad must be so disappointed that I don't like football (soccer). Similarly, all my older brother wants is a sibling who's into horror films. I'm sure he despaired when I told him I'd need to watch three romcoms to recover from this one.
It has its good points (the goat was pretty funny and Alison Lohman is Isla-Fisher-tastic).
I guessed some of it - including the borderline offensive cat bit. Mind you, I think she should have been dragged to hell for that.
I do have time for horror when it's intelligent ("Exorcist"), funny ("Brain Dead") or psychological ("Funny Games") and I even enjoy the odd mainstream zombie movie (but I wouldn't go near the extreme ones). I enjoyed the "Final Destination" and "Saw" films (despite their progressive worsening) and "Hostel" (cruelty to humans is OK).
Perhaps it was just the cat bit and the bad things happening to the lead character (undeservedly - until the cat bit).
If you like horror movies, you'll probably enjoy this one.
I didn't.
