What a piece of crap! This movie is so uneven. Yeah, the main character is a quiet, introverted guy, but the interactions he had with the girl were so awkward that I have no idea how she was even interested in him. Also, the introduction of the husband into the picture made no sense! He was obviously jealous and suspicious of "Driver" but then he turns around and befriends him...what?! And lastly, the violence. Don't get me wrong, I love violent movies. Love them! This film, however, was one where the shock value was not needed...at all. Like, where did this uber-violent side of Driver come from? Did it really do anything to advance the story? No, it only existed to shock the audience from the sleep they were in from the boring love triangle storyline.

2 out of 5 stars...and I'm being generous.

Oh yes...nothing like a loud, powerful engine and a bad-ass like Gosling's character to get a girl going! Watching a second time in was many days :-)

This movie starts off fast to reel you in. Gosling's performance is robotic-like and emotionless for most of the movie. The predicament Gosling faces is intriguing, to say the least. Once everything unravels, things turn for the worst for the hero. Overall, a good movie. However, I wish there were more high speed chases and the soundtrack was highly unusual. The 80's synthpop doesn't really work for me, especially for a crime drama.

Thank you Netflix. I enjoyed the film but only enough to watch this movie once. And to think I was going to burn $20 on the BD. Very noir. I love the soundtrack.
