One of those rate franchise installments that manages to revive itself when the core concept - Point Break with cars - should be so long in the tooth even the leading stars would be sick of it. The true magic isn't from the sharp casting ensemble, the knock off Ocean's Eleven script or even the coup casting of The Rock (back in kick-ass mode after successfully slumming his way through Disney comedies). The hidden secret is director Justin Lin who comes within a heartbeat of grabbing the crown of Best Action Director Alive. Lin should be working on other franchises like Terminator or The Expendables & make no mistake it's only a matter of time before Hollywood corrects this oversight. Until then, enjoy!
