-
Scott Jordan Dude, we are spending that much PER MONTH. -
David Cassoday I know, but I had no idea they spent that kind of money in the 40's

Since one of my grandfathers lied about his age to join this war & actually was one of the original men to raise the flag @ Iwo Jima.....I am definitely watching & recording this.

David Cassoday @lizet35 I hope he returned home safe ... I guess he would have had to in order for you to be born hahaha -
<3 Persephone @lizet35, for me it was my grandfather who fought @ Iwo Jima & all over the Pacific Islands WW2, & then trained Marines for Vietnam. He died when I was small but I remember him well. -
laura tucker @joy_formidable obviously dad had my brother and I late in his life. He could be our grandfather LOL

Gave up already. I'll start crying if I watch more. Great movie that tells a horrible story. (I've seen it before.)
-
Angel R. Rivera A very sad story indeed. Tragic how they were treated in the end.

I am a sucker for war movies, especially since all my uncles and Dad were in the military and some cousins and cousin in laws too!

Watching this to know more about that time period since my dad doesn't like talking about WWII.
-
Carole Smith Samples Brumley @lizet35 None of my relatives who were there will talk about it except to each other. I walked up to my dad and my uncle who were both in the Pacific, and I knew they were talking about it, but as soon as they saw me they stopped. My dad was so bitter that he never even picked up his bronze star. -
laura tucker Sounds like something my dad would do. Any man that has gone thru war doesn't like talking about it. -
Ron P. Muriera I'm from a military family. Grandfather was Bataan Death March Survivor during WWII, and my father served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. They both have since passed away but never talked about their war experiences when they were alive. Too painful to remember. I honor their service to our country not just on Memorial Day, but every day.

20 minutes into the movie. I think Letters from Iwo Jima is told better.
-
Angel R. Rivera Yea, of the two, I think "Letters" is the stronger film. But together, they do make a good film experience.
