Since one of my grandfathers lied about his age to join this war & actually was one of the original men to raise the flag @ Iwo Jima.....I am definitely watching & recording this.

<3 Persephone @lizet35, for me it was my grandfather who fought @ Iwo Jima & all over the Pacific Islands WW2, & then trained Marines for Vietnam. He died when I was small but I remember him well.

Carole Smith Samples Brumley @lizet35 None of my relatives who were there will talk about it except to each other. I walked up to my dad and my uncle who were both in the Pacific, and I knew they were talking about it, but as soon as they saw me they stopped. My dad was so bitter that he never even picked up his bronze star.

Ron P. Muriera I'm from a military family. Grandfather was Bataan Death March Survivor during WWII, and my father served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. They both have since passed away but never talked about their war experiences when they were alive. Too painful to remember. I honor their service to our country not just on Memorial Day, but every day.
