Possibly one of the greatest movies i have seen from the black and white genre. Has a solid genuine story about a travelling circus who happen to have a lot of different personalities involved. This movie was banned for 30 years due to the use of real circus acts with the actual disabilities and abnormalities; rather than the use of actors. The storyline is that of a midget who falls in love with a normal sized woman who he finds to be the most beautiful woman he has ever known. What he doesn't realise is tha she marries him knowing of a fortune he has inherited and that she is having an affair with a muscleman. Once everything is revealed she comes to learn if you upset one freak, you upset them all...
There is no gore or big scares involved in this movie- it mostly needs the use of your imagination in figuring out what happens; this being due to 30 mins of the original film being cut and now considered lost. I could easily watch this many times again, despite only being an hour ...

Iv'e heard only good things about the movie Freaks, finally been sent off my rental list!

This is such a good movie. It is chilling and you find yourself rooting for the "freaks'" as they take their revenge against a horrible woman.

A most epic movie exposing the cruel nature of 'normal' humans.

I swear this movie gets better n better every time I watch it...

Tonight's movie is "Freaks". A classic which was very controversial in it's time. The physically deformed "freaks" are inherently trusting and honorable people, while the real monsters are two of the "normal" members of the circus who conspire to murder one of the performers to obtain his large inheritance. It's one of my all time favorite films dealing with the human condition. In 1994, Freaks was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Highly recommend it if you haven't ever seen it!

I love the movie line up on TCM and AMC in October.

Finally! I've wanted to see this movie forever.
