The Goonies is a 1985 American adventure-comedy film directed by Richard Donner. The screenplay was written by Chris Columbus from a story by executive producer Steven Spielberg. A band of children from the "Goon Docks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon, hoping to save their homes from demolition, go on an adventure to find the buried treasure of One-Eyed Willie, a legendary 17th-century pirate.
"They call themselves "The Goonies." The secret caves. The old lighthouse. The lost map. The treacherous traps. The hidden treasure. And Sloth... Join the adventure."
Introducing O to a classic. I miss that weird 80's keyboard music (I'm assuming?) mixed in with the musical score still existed <3 Makes me think of this and The Neverending Story.
1st time seeing this film and loved it. even at 26 years of age, I found it brilliant. A sequel with the same actors would be interesting! over all though, loved it.
I've played the computer game based on this movie a lot, but can't remember if I've actually seen this movie, so this will be like watching it for the first time!
