Renowned nonfiction director Werner Herzog chronicles the tragic and untimely death of outdoorsman Timothy Treadwell, who devoted his life to studying grizzly bears living in the Alaskan wilderness -- only to have one of them maul him to death. Pieced together mainly from Treadwell's own video footage, this fascinating documentary goes deep into the wilderness of one man's mind to uncover how he spent his final days.

Amazing film about a man who's lost touch with reality and is overcome by his obsession. Nobody should be surprised that his life ended like it did, he pretty much asked for it. It's a shame that he took his girlfriend with him when he knew she was afraid. This guy needed some kind of medical attention or at the least, his friends should have prevented him from putting others in harms way.
He wasnt an idiot. He was naive. The thing is human beings dont belong Nature. We may have come from it, and in a certain way habitate it, but we belong with humans.
Absolutely fascinating. A great and thoughtful documentary. I loved how it didn't seem oversimplified. Makes me curious to check out more of Herzog's films.
