Never seen this one before. I love the book though.

Alan Arkin is the one of the best. Watching him when he was younger is so cool. You have to have a special talent to play a deaf mute and he has it!

Straight out of American Lit 101. Interesting to see Sondra Locke as a very young girl but being from the south, I cringe at the fake southern accents in this movie. Every movie really.

Don't know if I'll make it through this one. Gone with the Wind wore me OUT.

This is one of the great movies of 1968. It introduces us to Sondra Locke, Alan Arkin and Stacy Keach as residents of a small Southern town. The performances are stellar, and they make you want to like them, each in their own way, trying to figure the world and life out for themselves. There is tragedy, and pain. and frustration and life's lessons learned. This is a movie that I have in my collection at home. It should be seen by everyone who wants to understand how life is not always fair.

Supposedly this is a good adaptation.
