Daniel Justin Murray liked and reviewed this via Glue Suggestions1 weekIt's like the Wizard of Oz that so few know of. The scene at the ball after the allusion-laden eating of the peach is a haunting delirium of courtship with temptation. David Bowie's original music playing in that scene helps it be so profoundly touching at the same time. And the pensive lapse which moves through the hollow familiarity of all her possessions that fail to fulfill her longing is utterly palpable. Films like this capture the sort of affective genius inherent in the subconscious mind wandering in dreams. She just had to recall faith in herself, and the point which seemed to be a struggle that must be won suddenly wasn't the point at all, nor even a struggle anymore.
