Really wanted a steamy, hot romantic drama but had to settle for a horror. Anyone have any suggestions that are on Charter On Demand?

Sometimes the only answer is a brutal horror movie.

Placebo Effect Holocaust, noun - Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, esp. caused by fire or nuclear war: "a nuclear holocaust". Keep in mind, the word doesn't always refer to THE holocaust. You're not supporting Hitler by enjoying something that happens to have that word in the title. -
Mrs G @placebo_effect I could just be that we have differing definitions of "brutal". I've seen my fair share of old-school horror. I'm a particularly big fan of Japanese horror, and as such I find the brutality is in the social commentary rather than actual depicted violence or gore. Movies with lots of violence & gore tend to make me laugh. Things that unsettle me are the things you don't see. I found the subtext of abuse & subtle hints at mental illness more horrifying than the big fireball & decapitation -
Placebo Effect Try some Jack Ketchum flicks... Red (2008), The Girl Next Door, The Lost... Or check out The Afflicted. And if movies with violence and gore make you laugh, you're watching the wrong violent gory movies. I used to be the same way. lol

I like the whole - epiphanied preacher, exposing exorcism as sham and superstition angle.

Let me guess - I bet this is based on a "true" story too, right? :-/

Hannah Ween @BrenUK there are true stories like this. It's insane. -
Brendan James @hannahween It was more a comment on Hollywood's habit of using those magic words "Based On a True Story or "...Around True Events," and then confabulating a whole myriad of happenings and characters around the smallest sliver of truth, so that you end up having no idea what actually occurred and what didn't - rather than a comment on the possible veracity of the basic premise. -
Hannah Ween Oh, gotcha. Definitely agree with you. This movie was weird and Im not a fan.
