this is a great vampire movie that goes in a very awkward direction away from the norm and takes on you a journey that makes you relive the idea of vampirism and their relationships with humans....
great foreign film and oh keep an eye out for the cat scene! hahaha

great movie - with no glowing vampires

Great romantic vampire movie. It is in Swedish, but well worth the subtitles. The director of Cloverfield is releasing an American remake of the film in October staring the young girl from Kick Ass under the title Let Me In. Hopefully it stays true to the original.

It's an amazing vampire movie, but not in an action sense. A story about loneliness, dedication, love, lust, desperation, friendship and life... all filtered through a sieve of insanity and projected with precision focus onto the screen through a lens of deranged beauty -culminating in a wonderfully understated attack scene near the film's conclusion.

Multiple viewings are essential for this beautiful cinematic tale. There are numerous emotional and psychological threads woven tightly throughout the plot lines of thus film. These intricacies become more apparent as you immerse yourself in the story's lore and open yourself to the complex subtext roiling beneath the film's vampire metaphor in varied whispered tones. Just be sure, as you listen, to let the right one in.

Heard good things about this movie. Looking forward to it. I want to see the original before the US version comes out.

Epic!!!!

Now this is what a vampire movie is all about. The book, which shares the same name, touches on the darker side of humanity. But this gem from the north delivers a frosty and bloody story about the turmoils of two 12 year olds. Hearing Secret Service's "Flash in The Night" during the pool scene was the cherry on top! 5 stars!

A great film, that is being brought to the US as "Let Me In" which may or may not be as good. Time will tell really...

Great movie.

I love vampire movies, but I usually don't watch foreign films. This movie brings a fresh take on vampires and I really enjoyed it a lot. It didn't show the glamour of vampires and the story revolved solely around the young boy. Even though I don't speak the language, watching it with subtitles was still really good. Enjoy it!

Awesome vampire movie, totally creepy, subtitled...

I've read and seen stories with Vampires since I was a kid, and I have to admit that Let the Right One In floored me. It takes some of the classic elements of vampire stories (some only found in classic literature), and employs them in a very unique story. If possible, find a copy of this film that uses the original Swedish to English subtitles. The version released in America dumbed down the dialogue, but the original version is actually closer to the book.

A quiet kind of scary...beautiful in it's simplicity and complexity.

A Swedish film set in the early 80's of a young boy who is being bullied at school. He befriends a young girl of the same age and before you know it they have fallen in love. But little did he know this young girl was in fact a vampire...

This film did seem a little sedate for a horror/thriller but even so extremely intriguing. This was definitely more of a drama than a horror as the story concentrates more on the childhood relationship between these two characters rather than the random murders.

Another low budget film where you could tell this in certain scenes but the grittiness of the lack of budget made this film more effective.

If you like your slightly odd foreign films I would most definitely recommend you see this.

I love that flick one of the only movies that was subtitled that I actually finished watching ever.

Gritty...nothing glam about this flick. Refreshing after so many recent books and films portray vampires as the most syrupy creatures ever. Lovely. A must-see.
