Just finished watching this with My Young Man. He says this movie is not even close to the book. Not having read the book, I couldn't tell ya but I did enjoy it. =^)

Michelle Nelson :-)...I haven't read The Hobbit since high school, which was a loooong time ago...lol! But I think I will re read it soon...the thing w/ books like LOTR and even Harry Potter, there is soooo much stuff in the books, you can't put everything in the movie...but when you've got great directors like Peter Jackson, it turns out great! -
Regina My young man is a huge Tolkien fan. I think Tolkien is his inspiration... he wants to be a fantasy writer (He'll study Creative Writing when he attends University.) Thank goodness I was not forced to read The Hobbit in HS 'cause I'd have gotten a big fat F! Tried to read it a few years ago but couldn't get past the first two chapters. Am going to try to read it now 'cause I want to see the movie when it comes out at the end of the year. =^)
