This is DISGUSTING. Women in prison for having sex before marriage, can face up to 15 years. I don't see any of the men doing time for it...

I'm all for culture and tradition, but we live in the 21st century now. It's absurd that we allow these antiquated, and so-called "religious" laws infringe upon our human rights. Some muslims may interpret my views as being heretical, but while these individuals allow faith to dictate their thoughts... I'm certain that in their hearts they understand that, a god who would condone suffering is not worthy of worship.

I've really enjoyed the HBO documentaries that aired every Monday evening this past summer. I highly recommend this film as an excellent example of the massive injustices Afghan women still face.

MUST watch documentary. You can see it on HBO. I am still shocked at how women are treated in other parts of the world. Although here in the U.S. we're not that different with GLBT rights.
