I notice whenever Doris Day had a close-up, the film was slightly blurred. This wasn't the case for her profiles, neither any of the other actors. Was this a common practice in the day?
-
Lk Stimeling I seem to remember there were a number of actresses who insisted on close-ups being filmed either with Vaseline on the lens or through cheesecloth, can't remember which technique. -
Morwenna Hedgehouse @lk_stimeling Interesting. Good thing they didn't have to contend with HD in their day. -
readinrobin It was a common practice for the leading lady, to make her close ups look soft and romantic.

Must be a Doris day marathon!! Wish I'd caught pillow talk. That's all this makes me want to see :p
-
Ed Ramirez Today is her birthday! So, they are showing movies! She is also Star of the Month, so will probably be on again next week sometime! I believe Monday, but, check the schedule! Pillow Talk was not on today! -
Jmorgue Thanks for the intel!! I checked and I don't see it on the schedule, but I love Doris Day, so a month of her movies is a good thing :) (I'll just have to pull out my dvd!)
