Suffering short-term memory loss after a head injury, Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) embarks on a grim quest to find the lowlife who murdered his wife. To carry out his plan, Shelby snaps Polaroids of people and places, jotting down contextual notes on the backs of the photos to aid in his search and jog his memory.

Thrillers are not usually my favorite genre, but this movie really stands out as original and thought-provoking. I love the artistic way in which it's told and how much it makes you think as you work to sort out the details and mystery along with the protagonist. A fascinating watch!

Pay attention! Not ideal for a lazy day or a hangover. This is a mind-blowing plot that will leave you shaking your head til the very end. Even watching it years later for a second and third time, I was still shocked how it turned out. It's that well written.

This film probably had a greater impact on me the first time because I walked into the theater with no preconceived notions. I had no idea what the movie was going to be about, so I was as lost as the main character. I loved it so much, I saw it three times in the theaters. A truly beautiful, jarring and groundbreaking movie!

This may be THE film, where i learned to despise spoilers and micro-spoilers. I will NOT spoil anything, but i have grown to despise the woman working at that Blockbuster Video that spoiled it AS SHE HANDED IT TO ME. Just an innocent sounding comment. She should be fired, rehired, waterboarded, and fired again.

Maybe my favorite...super entertaining story,greatly edited material that makes it even more interesting...The backwards chronology is done really well and excels at putting you into the mind of a main character...very original,must see it,there isn't anything like it.

Need to watch it twice to get it, but amazing how such a format can work. Get the dvd with the option to watch the movie in "normal" sequence.

I love so many things about Memento -- from Guy Pearce's performance to Christopher Nolan's gripping direction. Most of all, though, I like how it turns traditional storytelling on its head. It's just mesmerizing from start to finish.
