I'm surprised this movie didn't generate more Oscar buzz. Regardless of genre, it was easily one of the best movies of the year. Smart, interesting, well written, and incredibly well acted. You might think you'd get sick of two hours of just Sam Rockwell, but you really don't.

(And am I the only one who now thinks Kevin Spacey should voice all AIs in movies now?)

Cheap movie with only one actor, or where there two? The movie was ok but not the kind of movie I like :-(

Brilliantly put together. Sam Rockwell does a fantastic job keeping you engaged - amazing considering that for the majority of the movie it's just him on screen.

Such a great and unique film.

This film is a revelation!! Sam Rockwells nuanced performance is just GOLD. ALL of his performances :) It was the sheer honesty he brings to the performance that grips the viewer. We go through all the realisations that he does as the facts begin to reveal themselves - the denial, the anger, the acceptance.

This is the sci-fi all about.

Surreal and simply clever. Great writing and plot. A story of a civilization unfolds as we are taken through the the day in a life of one man.

This movie did not disappoint. Sam Rockwell presented an amazing performance. I thought Tom Hanks in Castaway was great, but Rockwell plays an even more difficult range in this movie.

Predictable but in a good way. It ends up a clever and interesting story. The plot evolves one step behind your thoughts making the viewer feel very smart and the plot flow smoothly. Way better than Solaris.

Sam Rockwell is phenomenal in this.

This has got to be one of the most underrated movies I've seen. Which is heartbreaking because Sam Rockwell's performance is stellar. The cinematography is haunting, surreal and beautiful. The cold desolation of life on the Moon takes us out of our comfort zone and places us in the mind of the main character, who is battling for his sanity. Beautifully austere and frightening as any great sci-fi flick should be.

This film about a lone scientist pretty much stuck on the moon to collect energy to send back to earth over a span of 3 years, when he finds out that the corporation he is working for may not be telling him the whole truth about the contract he signed up for. The isolation of being on the moon might be playing tricks on his mind, and the scientist goes through somewhat an identity crisis, beginning to wonder if his life on earth will ever be the same after such a long stretch of time away. I am trying real hard not to give too much of the plot away because the film is one twist after another when the scientist keeps finding out that he has not been given the whole truth about his job on the Moon. Deals with the ethics of human life, specifically is one man giving his life for the whole of humanity really worth it? Who says? What if he is not really human? woah made you think huh? Give it a watch you will not be disappointed.

not for everyone

Very interesting. Very original. Very good. Rockwell's performance(s) are fantastic. I really enjoyed it.

With a slow-burn but never tedious plot, this film kept me holding my breath til the very end. Sam Rockwell's Oscar-worthy performance and Kevin Spacey's subtle voice acting will send shivers up your spine, and Clint Mansell outdoes himself with the score.
