Not to be confused with "Happy Hooker Goes to Washington", which also turned up when I searched for this movie. Though, I guess that could be the sequel to this...

One of, if not the very best, movies about US politics - this film should be required viewing for anyone who ever runs for public office. An absolute masterpiece...

This film should be mandatory viewing in all high school Civics/US History classes! Some things never change, corruption in politics unfortunately seems to have always been (is) the norm! Jimmy Stewart plays the "Everyman" with his typical grace, and a wonderful supporting cast does wonders with the screenplay! Frank Capra, I love his outlook on life! I can't think of one film he directed that I don't love! Thank You TCM and your 31 Days of Oscar!
