Nothing shorter than a masterpiece. This is more of a detective story for the viewer than for the characters inside. It a story told through dream and reality, the key to understanding this movie is to know your opponent, namely in this case, David Lynch. It might seem confusing and illogical but like real dreams, it does not explain, does not complete its sequences, lingers over what it finds fascinating, dismisses unpromising plot lines ...For those who are familiar with his work, you know it's a movie movie filled with symbolism and creepiness, for you "first timers", watch carefully for Lynch's clues, they're all there, just open your eyes and enjoy the masterpiece.....

Like most things Lynchian, it's a bizarre trip through... well, that's the thing. I've seen Mulholland Drive a number of times (even used it as a model of postmodernism in a lesson) and I'm still not entirely sure how to go about picking it apart. I think that's part of the fun. The scene in the theater is astoundingly beautiful.

There are a lot of clues and hidden meanings in this film. Or are there? Who really knows? Who cares? It's such a compelling film.
