I've always rated Polanski's The Ninth Gate. Each time I watch it (and I've seen it too many to say) it just makes me like it that little bit more.

I finished reading "Witch Water" by Edward Lee earlier tonight which got me in the mood to watch this.

I watch this about once a year. Nice and creepy. Excellent pacing. One of my favorite Polanski's.

This, by the way, is the worse possible description of this movie.

Depp is great of course, as are Frank Langella & Lena Olin

one of the few films where johnny depp does not wear excesssive makeup and a favorite of mine :)
