This Oscar-winning exposé trains a floodlight on the lies surrounding the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama. Filmmaker Barbara Trent alleges that Operation Just Cause was motivated by a plan to renegotiate Jimmy Carter's 1977 treaty returning control of the Canal Zone to Panama in 2000. Trent makes her case by interviewing refugees and government officials and presenting shocking photographs of the destruction and bloodshed caused by the invasion.
