Loved both version the Japanese and the American.. But the Japanese version scared me more..

Not a bad movie on its own merits - and Naomi Watts delivers a suitably frightened-looking performance - but I vastly prefer the understated dread of the Japanese original, 'Ringu'. By all means, watch that movie before you view this one.

ringu is way creepier.

The first time I saw this movie was at 3 am in the pitch black. My friend and I laughed so hard we were tearing up and I was little like 8 or 9 when I saw it. Honestly, I like this movie it's great. It's a great flick if you want something to watch.

the reason i put dislike on this is because its the american version of the ring. i prefer the japanese version.

Good stuff. Great use of tension and suspense instead of relying on gore.

I thought it was alright in theaters, then saw it again and realized the acting sucked....the story line was stupid and dammit it didnt scare me!!! Hah
