Marc Bailey @scojo it didn't. Remember the news about a spaceship entering Mars orbit? And the newspaper headline "Lost in Space?" The film is near-future, and the Icarus has already left and gotten stranded. It will return hundreds of years later with the crew in stasis.

Honestly liked it! CGI however groundbreaking took me out of the film from time to time, but a good watch none the less.

I don't know what the reviewers said, but this drawn-out third-grade implementation of a fifth-grade plot is borderline ridiculous.
