The film was done by Franco Zeffirelli before he did my favorite movie, "Brother Sun, Sister Moon." He was always able to capture the beauty of youth in the idealism of the 70's like few others.

Moving onto Shakespeare in my Valentine's Day marathon. This is my favorite adaptation of Romeo & Juliet.

My entire 9th grade walked to the movie theater near our junior high for a special screening when we studied this in English.

Sometimes you have to go back to the classics.

The kids watched "Gnomeo & Juliet" and it piqued their interest in the original. I forgot how beautiful the two main characters were.

This is the best version IMO 1968

Such a classic. So well done, the 90s version doesn't hold a candle.
