Alfred Hitchcock's brilliantly staged thriller with another first rate turn from James Stewart. A gripping, clever film that is almost like watching a superior stage play. Excellent stuff.

Every film buff has a favorite Hitchcock movie. This one is mine. For years I have watched it in amazement, just soaking in a virtuoso performance of old school drama. The entire feature-length film consists of long takes--it's basically a camera focused on a stage play. And yet it is incredibly fascinating to watch, and James Stewart is amazing. *shakes her head* Gotta find another copy of this as soon as possible.

Rope is on Encore Family channel right now! (Family??) Love this experiment in film making and storytelling -- and know the dialogue by heart after teaching with it for so many years.

Finally resuming my quest for Hitchcock.

This is another masterpiece by Alfred Hitchcock... Its amazing how he experimented beyond usual filmmaking at such a early stage. no one does that now... :( #sad
