I know this goes without saying, but the book is so much more graphic. Also need to mention that the Libertines & Storytellers in the book were described way more hideous than the characters in the movie. Overall a 2 out of 10 for me. I recommend the book & forget the movie.

Exceedingly difficult to watch, mostly because it is excruciatingly without purpose. Time I'll never get back.

Seems as good a day as any to dive into this Criterion disc.
