Picking up where his cult show "Firefly" left off, writer-director Joss Whedon's tale of galactic unrest follows Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), captain of the transport ship Serenity, and his scrappy but loyal crew. When the ship picks up two fugitives from the powerful coalition ruling the universe, "Mal" and his mates find themselves at the center of a cosmic conflict, pursued by military forces and space-roaming savages.

This is a perfect science fiction movie - strapping good guys, charismatic bad guys, awesome one-liners, and one epic quest. You will like it better if you watch the 13 episodes of "Firefly" first.

Okay, I didn't cry when Firefly went off the air (it was just allergies, okay?). But I was first in line to see Serenity, which picked up right where Firefly left off.
I felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions when the one season series ended. Why was River so powerful? Would Kaylee and Simon ever get together? Were Wash and Zoe going to reproduce? I need answers! So, I loved the movie. Of course, it was made by Joss Whedon, a man who's creative genius is unsurpassed by no one.

This is the first time I fell in love with Summer Glau. Both graceful and void of emotion, this role prepped her for the newer terminator series.

Yeah, it's a fanboy movie. But it's good -- and it's proof that just because your character isn't a redshirt DOESN'T mean you're invulnerable.

I loved Firefly and was terribly disappointed with the way Fox handled it, killing it off before it's time. The movie just shows what we have missed because of a network's short sightedness.
