A Biographical film of the early years of the punk legend Ian Dury. Quite a raw yet artistically made film which sucks you right in. When I say artistic I refer to the, what seems as drug fuelled flashbacks and stage stories. Andy Serkis as Dury was an inspirational casting. He really made this role his own. He had obviously done his homework when researching Ian Dury's character and made it exceptionally believable.

I'm a bit astonished that this film didn't get more press in the US, but I suppose the band never had that much success here, either.

This is currently Sitting amongst a pile of DVDs next to my TV which is marked with a note bearing the legend, "Xmas Viewing list".

(And I expect great things from Mr. Serkis because I'm a huge Ian Dury fan)

This was really actually very good! Not too dark, not too throwaway, and just the right balance of humour and sadness.

Serkis, Olivia Williams, Bill Milner and others take on an Ian Dury biopic.

Just getting around to finishing this.

Bio-film about English singer, Ian Dury. Andy Serkis, Gollum from Lord of the Rings, is quite good as Ian, but the film lost my interest about midway through.
