This could well be the greatest horror film ever made: chilling, visually stunning and featuring some excellent acting (especially from Jack Nicholson).
Kubrick's direction is superb, the whole film looks stark and is filled with terrifying images which brand themselves on your mind.This film is also a very tense experience, the fear of Wendy and her son is almost tangible.
Jack Nocholson is the one of the finest actors.
His character is pathetic at times, and intimidating most of the times. Over the course of the film we see him gradually descend into madness and produce an unforgettable acting display.
Kudos to the child actor- Danny Llyod . He gives an impressively realistic portrayal in a such serious movie

Here'ssss Johnny! Another movie that scares the beejeezus out of me.... I love watching it in the middle of Summer, something to do with being able to handle all the dire winter scenes without actually having to deal with winter in real life - because then besides being irritated with winter, I'd be creeped out by plows and shizzz ;) Redrum... I read the book, so when this movie came out, I could NOT wait to see it, well, needless to say Jack scares the S*& out of me as it is, in this movie, he was perfect for this part. This movie was right on with the book, and that"s NOT an easy thing to do!!!
