Is Tim Daly an asshole IRL? He's awesome at admitted assholism. Either way, he is the film's titular skeptic, and when his aunt dies, he moves into her house to keep it safe from looters (yup, it's that kind of expensive, expansive old Victorian -- but it's beautiful and not creepy aside from... well, you'll see). His aunt had some trouble with the closet in the master bedroom, it turns out, and while he believes it's hogwash, a visit from a sleep-deprived medium (played by the impeccably-good-at-being-nutty Zoe Saldana) and the subsequent happenings begin to change his mind. I find few flaws with this film -- I really enjoyed the story and watching it unfold -- though some may gripe about the ending. Overall, it's a realistic approach to a family member's obsession, and those things usually do lead to self-discovery, let's face it. Daly's Becket has been through some traumatizing times, and his inner child is struggling to deal. The house helps with that, letting him in on secrets.

This was a great movie with the stupidest ending.... Did they lose the last few pages of the script or something...what a let down. I guess I should have known with an 88 minute run time...

Netflix recommends with 4 stars! Hope I like it!
