Suspiria Moments of utter brilliance, mixed in with ones of tedium. Deserves it's classic status. 7/10.

FOR PEOPLE WHO SAID THE ACTING WAS BAD: Director Dario Argento's original idea was the ballet school would accommodate young girls not older 12. However the studio and producer (his father) denied his request because a film this violent involving children would be surely banned. Dario Argento raised the age limit of the girls to 20 but didn't rewrite the script, hence the naivety of the characters and occasionally childlike dialogue. He also put all the doorknobs at about the same height as the actress' heads, so they will have to raise their arms in order to open the doors, just like children.

My first experience of Argento. Peculiar, visually rich with bizarre music that really takes you out of your comfort zone. Just didn't really scare me. I feel like i've missed the boat with this one.

Sometimes I think, "I should have a Dario Argento marathon and watch all the ones I haven't seen yet" then I watch one and end up weeping and rocking back and fourth in horror.

Can't find my Deep Red disc, but this should quell my yearning for classic Argento.

Enjoyin' it!!! The first murder was a little grotesque....but overall a fun ride. Interested to see what my professor has to say about it.
