After years of hype hearing how good it was suposed to be it probably never could have lived up. But I thought it was terrible. Some of the acting was laughable. Ill be honest I had difficulty following what exactly was going on at parts, now maybe thats me being stupid but I just didn't care for it. I was also under the impression it was supposed to be insanely gory. I don't even think it was as gory as the original Friday the 13th.

Argento is known for his set pieces mise-en-scene and in Suspiria these scenes are disturbing strange sound effects, pounding music & the colors he uses are wonderful. It begins in a rainstorm with a taxi driver who doesn't speak English and then we see a girl running through the woods Susan Jessica Harper arrives at the school for dance but she can't get in but someone speaks to her what they say is a mystery-meanwhile the girl in the woods arrives at an apartment house and is the attacked by some sort of sociopath & the fun begins. There's a million maggots, a room full of razor wire, a strange doctor who claims red wine cures anything & a dance teacher who is rather chilling who looks like a prison guard. The horror and suspense are engrossing. The acting is superb. The only problem has been getting a cleaned-up full length wide-screen uncensored version. A must see.
