Not many people can improve on Shakespeare but Akira Kurosawa did it with “Throne Of Blood”.

What do I mean by “improve”?

Well, he actually managed to give an heir of legitimacy to Lady MacBeth’s descent into madness-brought-on-by-a-sudden-emergence-of-conscience. In Shakespeare’s original I’d always found LM’s transition from scheming Iron-Spined murderess and conspirator to guilt-ridden, suicidal madwoman rather unconvincing. But Kurosawa, through the simple expedient of adding a pregnancy and miscarriage to her character, made the whole process a darn sight more convincing.

Either way, cracking film.

i beleieve that its a better movie than yojimbo.
