You've got to have a thick skin to admit to liking this one. But what can I say? I was in 7th grade when it came out, and just the right age to start believing in love (and Leo).

This is the kind of movie you don't really want to like (or at least, you don't want to admit you like), but darn it, this is good movie making. The characters, the meticulously recreated sets and period costumes, the history of it all, the romance and sensuality, the science and technology, the message about separation of the classes, the amazing special effects, the amazing scores - my goodness, this movie had a LOT of layers! This is an epic movie about an epic historical event that you simply cannot forget.

notice: I just hate those love stories, but this movie has it all: good plot, excellent story development, great special effects, great cast, so - must be thumbs up.
Beautiful scenes, true to the time, characters were well developed and played their respective roles fully...those we were supposed to care about, I did, and those we were supposed to dislike, I did! Even though I knew how the story ended, I couldn't help but "hope" that somehow it wouldn't be so bad - but it was. The music adds depth and really pulls at your emotions. A very good movie.
