Stuck on a long sea voyage to Australia in 1812, Edmund Talbot (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a naive young aristocrat whose haughty manner rubs everyone the wrong way. But within the cramped vessel, Talbot soon learns how to navigate the waters of every social class. On the lengthy passage, he must deal with seasickness, a hostile captain and the French, who would be happy to sink the ship.
This TV miniseries is based on a trilogy by William Golding.
Watched (and enjoyed) the first two parts this evening. Also, I would be worthless on a ship. Whenever someone nearly falls over and/or objects move along with the ship, I start giggling.
