After a lifetime of dreaming of traveling the world, 78-year-old homebody Carl (voiced by Ed Asner) is lured into an unbelievable adventure, thanks in part to the persistence of Russell, an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer (Jordan Nagai). Never expected to get misty over an animated film, but I welled up in the first half hour of it. Great movie, the best Disney/Pixar has done so far.

Very touching, with a bit of adventure. But even better was to see the relationship between the young boy and an elderly man grow to one of meaning. Something often forgotten these days when due to the mobility of today's society so many kids no longer have a personal connection with their grandparents or elderly relatives. They have so much to teach us and at times we, them. if only given the chance to do so.

An incredible movie. None of the humor struck me as embarrassing and it dealt with the subject of death beautifully. I cried quite a bit.
