Intriguing. Perhaps only one of Sofia Coppola's movies that is more bearable. I was bored by gloomy Lost in Translation and Somewhere.

I feel like a lot of people miss the point of the movie or don't fully understand it. Mrs. Lisbon's imprisonment of the girls and their religious backgrounds are kind of red herrings in that they are not the source of motivation for the suicides. Cecilia is the first to go, and she goes without any of those restrictions on her. Pay attention the the background of the movie, the decaying trees that are being chopped down, the cemetery strikes, the world around the Lisbon girls is changing and that means they'll have to change with it. The boys who obsess over the mystery of the girls will always hold them in their thoughts because the girls died before any of those mysteries could be uncovered. This movie is more about the boys' experience that summer than the suicides of the sisters. They left at an age where girls were still a mystery to the boys like a magical creature and had they lived they would have changed into women and been found out, but instead they're trapped in adolescence

El soundtrack de Air no tiene madre.

Been on a film kick as of late and finally got around to seeing Sophia Coppola's directorial debut. What an ethereal film.

Now watching the #VirginSuicides (1999) A brilliant movie directed by Sofia Coppola. Still have this on VHS :)
