Ok, so this was made 7 years ago. The documentary ends on a high note highlighting lots of cases of groups successfully petitioning against new Wal-Mart stores. Being a Brit, I don't really know much about Wal-mart - can anyone tell me whether 7 years later, after all this public disapproval, have Wal-mart taken notice and tried to change their ways at all? If anyone can tell me, I'd be interested to know.

The REALLY sad indictment though is that it's not just Wal-Mart doing these things. Maybe Wal-Mart really take the biscuit and take it to another level (I'm not that aware of Wal-Mart, being a Brit myself) - but big companies everywhere are guilty of many of the things outlined here as standard practice. Exploitative practices that would have been deemed abhorrent just a little while ago have now become the standard way of doing business!

Such is the nature of the modern corporation (on which all business life seems to be modelled) - a bizarre entity that has the legal rights and protections of a human being but absolutely no moral responsibilities other than to increase profit and growth!

I've certainly experienced these things at other companies - I'm sure others have too?

Talk about eye-opening! I very rarely shop there any more, but after watching this, I never want to give them another dime of my money.
